Harvest Festival

27th September 2016

Dear Parents/carers,

Harvest is nearly upon us and as many of you are aware we usually make a contribution or donation to a charity around this time of year. This year I would like to give our donations a more local focus. You may have heard of One Can Trust (www.onecantrust.org.uk). This is a local food bank that provides food when families need it most in and around High Wycombe.

In the past, children have had to bring an item of food and a donation of £2 and then all children undertook a food swap. I think we can use our harvest donations to make a real difference to local families. Attached is the list of food that One Can Trust is most in need of. This year, can please I ask you to donate as few or as many items off the list as you feel able and bring it to school on Friday 7th October.

One Can Trust will hopefully be coming into school to do an assembly for all of the children to raise awareness of the cause they are donating to.

As you may have seen from the last newsletter, Harvest Festival will be taking place on Friday 7th October. As part of trying to achieve the best curriculum balance for all year groups we have changed how we approach the public performances over the school year. While all year groups will still get a chance to perform during the year, Harvest Festival is now the focus of Year 3 and 4. Parents of children in these year groups will receive a separate letter detailing how they can request seats to attend this event.

Many thanks for your continued support,
