Bledlow Ridge School Association (BRSA) is a Parent Teacher Association which organises enjoyable fund raising events that provide the additional funds required by the school to buy essential facilities. In the last school year, this included: purchasing some Maths resources, funding online subscriptions, purchasing new interactive wipe boards and funding towards the new outdoors storytelling area. This year the focus of fundraising will be on improving the general school environment.
Due to the continued changes to the way money is allocated to schools, Bledlow Ridge School will not be able to buy and maintain many of the facilities and equipment they need to teach our children to the levels we have come to expect and which make their time at school happy and memorable. Many schools have to ask parents for voluntary contributions. However, we believe that involvement in and enjoyment of the various events organised throughout the year, leads to a greater sense of community and a higher performing school.
Past events have included:
- A Sponsored Walkathon in the autumn term
- A Christmas Fayre
- Christmas Discos for the children
- A Ladies Fashion Show
- Mothers’ Day Sale
- Film Nights
- Hot Dog Days
- The Easter Egg Hunt
- The Ridge Off Roader running races – both competitive and fun
- The Summer Fete
These events have allowed us to raise significant sums of money each year.
