Practical Arrangements

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

School begins at 8.30am. Pupils arrive via the school gate and go straight to their classroom.  Teachers will be in the classroom from 8.30am. No child should arrive at school before 8.30am unless they are on the school bus.

At 3 p.m. pupils are collected from the outside doors to their classrooms. The school operates a one-way system, all pupils and parents exit through the larger gate at the front of the school. If parents are late for any reason, the children will be asked to wait in the school entrance hall.

Bus children should line up in the school hall at 3 p.m. A school minibus, organised by the Local Authority is available for children living some distance from the school. Please contact the Transport Officer on 01296 383742 for details or visit Contact school admissions | Buckinghamshire Council and complete a 'Contact School Admission Form'.

CARE OF PROPERTY

All pupils are encouraged to take reading and library books home to practise reading, and they will therefore need an appropriate bag in which to carry them. School book-bags are ideal and may be purchased from Sport Crest. If pupils in Year 6 decide to use an alternative bag, it must be of a similar size, since cloakroom space is extremely limited.

Please do not allow your child to bring precious personal possessions into school. If children bring money into school they should bring it in a named envelope or purse and always hand it in to their teacher for safe keeping.

WITHDRAWAL FROM LESSONS AND ACTIVITIES

You may ask permission to withdraw your child from assemblies and from Religious Education lessons if, because of your beliefs, you wish to do so. In all other cases, however, children are expected to take part in all activities, including all games and PE lessons.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Photos are routinely taken in school and used as part of the recording and assessment of children’s learning and other achievements, and for display purposes. Photographs of the children may also be used on occasions to promote the school. This is all in line with current Data Protection Act legislation. Parents are requested to sign a consent form to indicate your agreement to their daughter/son's image being used in this way.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

The school expects all pupils to follow the Bledlow Ridge School Uniform Policy (see policies on website). Please ensure all uniform is clearly named.

JEWELLERY

In the interests of safety it is important that children do not wear jewellery to school. If ears have been pierced, only sleepers/ studs should be worn and these must be removed for all PE/Games sessions.
